A Brief History of Intelligence

For Stephen William Hawking. A disease spent half a century trying to quiet him. It failed. From a chair, through a synthesizer, he held black holes, time, and the rest of us to account, and he did it with a joke ready. This lecture is a small dedication: to a mind that stayed free, a voice the universe had to learn to hear, and the courage of remaining curious to the last.
